Manuscripts, in a single hand, of seven essays on political and social subjects by Banks. Titles include "The Glory of The French Nation exemplified in the Conquest of England," "The Force of Beauty," "The Asses which bear the Burthen with a Few Suggestions for Reform, Retrenchment, and Civil Rights," and "The Usurpations, and Deposals of the Monarchs of England from the Saxon Era to the Revolution in 1688." A piece titled "The Glory of France exhibited In the Conquest of England by William Duke of Normandy" is accompanied by "the Unsophisticated Genealogy of Her Majesty Queen Victoria By an Anglo Norman," and a printed copy of "A Rod For the Lawyers Who are hereby declared to be the Grand Robbers and Deceivers of the Nation" is preceded by a written dedication to the Earl of Eldon. The collection also includes an essay "abstracted from the History of the Judges of Charles I By Ezra Stiles, President of Yale College in the United States of America" titled "The Grand Question Whether a Sovereign is answerable to the Community whom he governs with a few observations upon the Expediency of a Constitutional Judiciary for the Trial of Delinquent Monarchs."
